At Blue Ocean Acoustics we know the importance of material performance. Because when you’re building a Superyacht, there are no second chances. When high performance materials are engineered and installed correctly, they deliver the greatest results, as well as the most efficient use of weight, space and labour. We are pleased to present a package of specially engineered materials and components, delivered to you globally, at exceptional value.
Blue Ocean Acoustics offers tailored services to reflect the specific needs of our clients, from private yacht owners to production yards, designers, naval architects and Superyacht builders.
For these clients, our services include:
Whatever your requirement, our goal is to simplify the process of design
and construction, while providing you with outstanding results and value.
Blue Ocean Acoustics takes a structured approach to all fire, noise and vibration treatment. This is the only way to ensure a quality outcome for all parties. Depending on the level of service selected and the complexity of the project, we undertake a variety of engineering processes, discussing the relevant areas of concern with the Naval Architect, Yard and Interior Contractor. First, we establish all design parameters, including but not restricted to:
Once these are clarified and agreed upon, we begin the engineering process.
This is a well-established method used to assess the low frequency response of the vessel. Analysing a 3D model enables issues to be identified early in the design process and treatment methods to be evaluated.
Fire boundaries and structural fire protection are reviewed and plans prepared for approval as required.
With the complex array of propulsion, power, mechanical and ventilation systems installed in a Superyacht, it’s essential that an exacting review of all machinery is undertaken.
Having established structure-borne energy levels and dominant frequencies, we transfer data into a combination of traditional acoustic engineering software and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) software to model the behaviour of medium to high frequency noise within the interior.
To achieve the desired results, it’s imperative that materials are installed correctly. Clear installation guides are provided as 2D construction drawings.
Sea-trial measurements are taken to confirm predicted noise and vibration levels are achieved. Measurements are taken under pre-agreed conditions, including underway and at anchor, to internationally recognised standards, with a full report provided upon completion.
